The Honda NSX, launched in 1990, was showered with superlatives immediately. Slogans such as "The first Japanese supercar" or even "The best Ferrari Honda has ever built" demonstrated to the sports car rivals that Honda intended the NSX to compete in the league of Porsche and Ferrari in the future. To achieve this, the engineers had written all kinds of high-tech into the specifications: The first production car to be made almost entirely of aluminum boasts electronic steering assistance and electronic throttle control. The 3.0-liter V6 engine produces 274 hp and revs up to 8000 rpm thanks to titanium rods. Formula 1 legend Ayrton Senna himself carried out the final set-up tests on the Nürburgring and in Suzuka. The handling of the NSX served Gordon Murray as a benchmark for developing the brilliant McLaren F1.
This NSX (NA1) has been in the care of a Honda enthusiast for almost 20 years, has only 57,000 km on the clock, and is now being sold for reasons of age. The vehicle was only driven in good weather. According to the seller, the car is accident-free. All annual maintenance, repairs, and TÜV visits are documented.
Most of the only 271 NSX Coupés sold in Germany were delivered in "Formula Red" with a contrasting black roof. In the case of the NSX on offer, the roof was painted in body color at the customer's request to achieve a more uniform appearance. This consistent color scheme corresponds to the Targa version. The more than thirty-year-old sports car impresses with its exceptional condition of body and paintwork. The black leather interior shows hardly any signs of wear, thanks to the careful treatment by the Honda enthusiast. Comfort and standard equipment are extensive for a sports car of the 1990s: automatic air conditioning, hi-fi system with CD changer, electrically adjustable leather seats, airbags, and premium upholstery and insulation material. And all of this in a quality "that would make a Ferrari blush", as the press noted with a wink in its day. To replace the defective original radio, a specialist company installed a high-quality Pioneer radio with a retractable screen and navigation system that blends harmoniously into the interior.
As a technology transfer from Honda's Formula 1 involvement until 1992, the NSX received an aluminum chassis with independent suspension, double triangular wishbones, coil springs, telescopic shock absorbers, and anti-roll bars. The NSX for sale here has undergone several improvements over the years. A sports suspension has been installed, and an exhaust system with Fujitsubo front and main silencers and a Remus rear silencer provides a sporty sound. The coveted OZ Racing Ultraleggera alloy wheels are fitted with Conti Sport Contact tires with a solid profile all around in the dimensions 215/40 ZR 17 at the front and 275/35 ZR 18 at the rear. All these modifications and improvements are recorded in the papers. The TÜV was renewed in the summer, so there is no need to worry until June 2025. The timing belt was also replaced on this occasion. With a mileage of only 57,000 km, this NSX still has a lot of potential. A first series NSX is running in the USA with 670,000 km on the clock, with the first engine and gearbox!
