In contrast to the Willys Jeep, the Land Rover is not a military vehicle but a purely civilian child. After the Second World War, British farmers and exporters wanted a workhorse that could go anywhere and do anything—a universal Land Rover, developed and produced by the established British manufacturer Rover.
